Sr Cisco Network Engineer

Located: Annapolis, MD - Hybrid work schedule about 2-3x a week on-site (at most, most likely even less)

Pay: 120k-135k base

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sr Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network solutions to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance across our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of networking technologies and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable network architectures that meet business needs.
  • You'll be supporting 3 hospital systems (3k users each) for a total of 9k users. 
  • Manage and optimize Cisco switching and routing environments.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco Wireless Networks to support mobile connectivity.
  • Implement and oversee Cisco ACI for efficient data center operations.
  • Manage and configure Palo Alto Firewalls to ensure security and compliance.
  • Oversee Meraki Networks for cloud-managed networking solutions.
  • Support data center operations, including virtualization using VMware and Acropolis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in both IDF and MDF locations.
  • Implement SDWAN solutions to enhance branch connectivity and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in switching and routing technologies, particularly with Cisco.
  • Experience with Cisco Wireless Networks and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cisco ACI and data center networking principles.
  • Proficient in managing Palo Alto Firewalls and ensuring network security would be a bonus.
  • Experience with Meraki Networks and cloud-managed IT solutions would be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware and Acropolis.
  • Nice to have: medical / healthcare background
  • Understanding of SDWAN solutions and implementation best practices.
  • Bonus points for: CCNA, CCNP, CCSA or similar certs
