Job Title: Sr. Full Stack Python Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, FL - Fully Remote (EST time zone)
Compensation: $130K - $160K DOE

We are an insurance company located in Northern Florida looking to bring some talent to our Software Engineering team. For the last 45 years we have been providing a wide range of approved and excess insurance products as well as warranty options as a global specialty insurer. We underwrite a range of insurance and insurance-related products both in the United States and internationally, both on an admitted and non-admitted basis.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Full Stack Engineer with expertise in Python, SQL, and Azure to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable web applications, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems, and contributing to the overall architecture of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance web applications using Python and Azure.
  • Develop and manage SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for our web applications.
  • Deploy containers on Azure
  • Build REST APIs and ensure effective communication between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Utilize Python web frameworks to build dynamic and responsive user interfaces.
  • Manage code versioning and collaboration using GIT and JIRA.
  • Participate in CI/CD processes to enhance deployment efficiency and maintain high code quality.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong focus on Python and APIs
  • Proven experience working with Azure cloud services and deployment of containers on Azure
  • Experience building REST APIs from scratch on Azure
  • Experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask, Django, Sanic or similar is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data transformation tools like DBT and experience with data processing frameworks such as Pyspark and Databricks is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including CI/CD methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
