An established restoration company is looking for a seasoned professional to take on a pivotal role as a Reconstruction Estimator/Project Manager. This position is ideal for someone who excels at both evaluating property damage and leading complex repair projects from start to finish. You'll be responsible for scoping, budgeting, and managing large-scale residential and commercial rebuilds-ensuring every detail is handled with precision and care. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site inspections to evaluate structural and cosmetic damage caused by fire, water, wind, or other events
- Develop detailed repair estimates using Xactimate, ensuring alignment with industry and insurance standards
- Create comprehensive scopes of work and negotiate terms with insurance adjusters, clients, and other stakeholders
- Manage reconstruction projects from initial approval through final completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Oversee scheduling, procurement, subcontractor engagement, and job costing
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with internal departments such as accounting, mitigation, and support staff to ensure seamless project execution
- Mentor junior estimators and assistant project managers, and contribute to the development of internal systems and workflows
- Track project margins and key performance indicators, reporting regularly to division leadership
Qualifications
- Proven background in reconstruction estimating and project management, particularly with large-loss insurance claims
- Proficiency in Xactimate and a strong understanding of its application in insurance restoration projects
- Solid knowledge of restoration processes, insurance protocols, and construction standards
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on detail, deadlines, and quality
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with clients, adjusters, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Experience mentoring team members and contributing to process improvement
- Highly organized with the ability to track budgets, schedules, and performance metrics effectively
