Principal Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview
The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and executing engineering projects to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and reduce costs. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems to ensure product quality and efficiency.
  • Utilize Quality Assurance methodologies and Six Sigma principles to identify and resolve manufacturing defects and process variations.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize production planning.
  • Manage and mentor engineering teams in the use of CAD software for designing and improving manufacturing layouts and processes.
  • Oversee project management activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
  • Apply engineering principles to analyze and solve complex manufacturing challenges, implementing effective solutions.
  • Implement automation and robotics solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management to ensure materials and resources are effectively utilized for production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and lead corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies across manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of success in leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for design and process optimization.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies and robotics in manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
