Insurance Defense Attorney

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking cases. This role requires a strong analytical ability, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the capability to manage various legal matters efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in insurance defense litigation matters
  • Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Conduct depositions and manage expert witness preparation
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Assist in trial preparation and appear in court as necessary
  • Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda
  • Manage case files and documentation in a cloud-based environment
  • Collaborate with senior counsel and legal teams to strategize case approaches
  • Conduct site inspections and gather evidence for cases
  • Maintain a paperless document management system
Qualifications
  • Jurisdictions: Must hold a California Bar License
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
  • Strong knowledge of personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking law
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and document review
  • Demonstrated trial experience and ability to conduct court appearances
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases effectively
  • Experience in negotiating settlements and handling breach of contract cases
  • Willingness to learn quickly and take initiative in case management
