Heavy Civil Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for heavy civil construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in the bidding process. This role is crucial for the successful execution of our projects and contributes to the overall growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate estimates.
Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects including highways, roads, and excavation.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating.
Utilize software tools such as AGTEK and Bluebeam for takeoff and estimation processes.
Prepare and maintain a database of historical cost data and unit prices.
Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and terms.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects.
Proficiency in estimating software such as AGTEK and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction methods and materials related to civil engineering.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements for highway and road construction.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
