Healthcare Attorney
Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Healthcare Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice on Healthcare transactions, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Experience with healthcare fraud and abuse laws-including federal and state anti-kickback and self-referral statutes-as well as exposure to private equity and other transactions, state licensure requirements, HIPAA compliance, due diligence, and contract drafting and negotiation is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on healthcare regulatory compliance, including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law (self-referral), False Claims Act, and HIPAA.
Support and conduct due diligence for healthcare transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including physician employment agreements, management services agreements, and business associate agreements.
Provide guidance on federal and state licensure and certification requirements.
Counsel clients on reimbursement and billing practices, including Medicare and Medicaid compliance.
Assist with internal investigations and responses to government audits or enforcement actions.
Monitor changes in healthcare law and policy and communicate updates to clients and internal teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance officers, HR, finance, and operations.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3+ years of experience practicing healthcare law in a law firm or in-house environment.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and industry standards.
Excellent legal research, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and clients in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with healthcare systems, private equity, or multi-state provider groups is a plus.
