I spoke with this company's president on Friday, and he told me that he needs to hire a Sr. Civil Estimator in the next month with 10+ years estimating experience.

Plus, he's open to hybrid work after a trial period.

He's urgently looking for a strong civil estimator and is offering a very competitive package including:

Salary in the $200k ballpark (DOE)
Open to hybrid after initial trial period

This company has a strong reputation in the state and a lot of repeat clients.

They bid on sitework, excavation, and utility projects up to $20M (experience with larger projects is welcome).

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications.
Conduct site analysis and gather relevant data for accurate bidding and project planning.
Perform materials takeoff to quantify materials and labor needed for projects.
Collaborate with project management to develop budgets and timelines for projects.
Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to clients and stakeholders.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges and cost implications.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
Utilize software tools such as AGTEK and HCSS for project estimation and scheduling.
Analyze construction schedules to ensure projects remain on budget and on time.
Support project managers with ongoing cost monitoring and budget tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
EIT / PE a nice plus
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating.
Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS and AGTEK.
