Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement/Manufacturing Efficiency and Quality

Direct Hire/Perm

Located onsite, NW Alabama

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in a role where you will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct analysis to identify areas for process improvements and cost efficiency savings.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues and develop solutions.
  • Perform statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and optimize production processes.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials for manufacturing staff.
  • Lead Kaizen events and other process improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Education/degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field is desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience/ability to identify, develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes for production, ensure high quality and cost-effective processes. 
  • Experience with engineering tools like DFMA (Design for Manufacturing Assembly), 5S, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proficient in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • We would welcome those candidates with experience/an understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles; Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred.
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and ability to coordinate, work with cross-functional team members on projects that touch many areas of specialty.
  • Knowledge of RVIA Requirements for Safety, Compliance and Quality is a PLUS.
